Walking Bus

The Walking Bus is a scheme aimed at helping children travel to and from school in a healthy and safe way.  It is a way of enabling a large group of children to walk to school when their own parents may not be able to walk with them.  Walking Buses make the area around the school and the environment safer for everyone.  If less people are travelling by car then the pollution and congestion around the school gate will be greatly reduced!!!!

To allow your child to travel with the Walking Bus, you need to come into school and complete a consent form (as below) and return it to the school office.

Allowing your child to travel on the Bus will give them the opportunity to spend more time with their friends, get some exercise and learn vital Road Safety skills.  Your child will be given a fluorescent Bus Pass which they will be expected to display.  Their behaviour will also be monitored and they will be asked to sign a Code of Conduct, guaranteeing that they will behave in a sensible way.

You will have more valuable time in the mornings.  Alternatively, you may like to travel with your child and volunteer as a Bus Operator.  You will be given full training and appropriate safety equipment.
