Further to this, all teachers are required to attend 5 in-service training days held when the children are not in school.

By statute the Teachers have 1075 hours class contact time during the Academic Year, plus 190 hours directed time as stipulated by the Headteacher.  The actual teaching hours per week excluding the Daily Act of Worship, Registration and Breaks totals 24 Hours and 10 minutes per week for Key Stage 2 and 22 Hours and 55 minutes per week.

All teachers also receive at least 10 percent guaranteed PPA time. All staff are allocated 10% of their direct teaching time as their planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) non-contact time on a weekly basis. This time is protected from any other school demands. The purpose of guaranteed PPA time is to enable teachers to raise standards through individual or collaborative professional activity. The contractual change on PPA is also designed to improve teachers' work/life balance. The school has employed an internal Non Class Based Teacher and two experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to cover this time in class, ensure continuity and high quality teaching and learning for the children.
