The Home School Partnership

Home/School Partnership

The closer co-operation there can be between parents and the school, the more the individual child will flourish. Parent's evenings are valuable to us and we would ask you to do your best to attend them. Prospective parents may make an appointment with the Head Teacher if they wish to visit the school.

Should there be any difficulty, or matter which you would prefer to discuss privately, please do not hesitate to contact us. A personal interview can often resolve what may appear to be a difficult problem, and the members of staff are ready to help you. Please see your child's teacher after school when they have more time than at the start of the school day.

We ask you to support our children in the various concerts, fayres, displays and sporting activities in which they will be included from time to time. Nothing is more helpful to a child than to know that his/her parents are taking an interest in his/her school.

Many functions are held throughout the Academic Year and we do ask you to support as many of these as possible. It is most important to meet parents on a social basis and the success of these social events very often depends upon the response we receive. If you have any further suggestions for social occasions, please do not hesitate to contact either the Headteacher or members of the P.T.F.A. or your child's teacher, so that your ideas may reach fruition.

We have established a Parent/Teacher and Friends Association at school, who meet regularly, and as well as helping out within the school, also organise and run other fund raising and social events.

Prospective parents may visit the school in the Summer Term during the morning or afternoon where routines, curriculum content, behaviour policy and administration procedures are explained.  This process provides an integral part of our Foundation Stage and transition programme.

Home School Agreement

In September you will receive a copy of the school's Home/School Agreement. This is a document that details what you can expect of the school and what the school can expect of you and your child in return.

You, your child and the school will sign this document to form an agreement between home and school to help your child be as successful as possible in his/her time at Jubilee Park Primary.

If the home school agreement is not followed you will be contacted

Parents Evenings

These are held approximately every term when you have the opportunity to consult members of staff about your child's progress. You will be notified of these evenings and again you are requested to reply to the letter sent out as this indicates the time you will be available to attend and see your child's teacher. We do operate an appointments system and ask you to keep to the times given.

Pastoral Care

Class teachers are responsible for the general welfare of the children in their class. Parents are encouraged to discuss the child's progress and problems. A member of staff is always available in an emergency. However, parents wishing to make a complaint concerning the treatment of their child or any other matter concerning the school should always speak to the Headteacher first.

Letters to Parents

From time to time, communications are sent home about events at school. On occasion we ask you to sign and return a slip or medical consent form.  A prompt reply is all we ask.  Please check with your child to see if they have been given any letters recently or check the school reception notice board and ask for duplicate copies if necessary.

We do consider the views of parents important to improve our school. We hold annual 'Strategic Coffee Mornings' to seek the views of our parents and which we use to inform our School Improvement Plan. In addition, we send out parent and pupil questionnaires on a bi-annual basis to assess the impact of our provision. Our open door policy also provides a useful source of information, please contact the head teacher if you have any immediate concerns or areas for development
